AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen offered her support to Amanda Bynes, who has been placed on a psychiatric hold since Friday, October 10. In an interview with E! Online at Variety's Power of Women event, Chrissy was asked about her opinion about Amanda's situation.
She replied, "Amanda and I are the same age so I grew up watching her and really looking up to her and for me, to see this path that's happening and to watch it, is kind of really affecting me in ways that I didn't think it would."
John Legend's wife continued, "I obviously don't know her at all but I want to bring her back and I want to make her happy and healthy for some reason and she's not there and we can't do anything to help so it kind of sucks. All we're doing is hurting it. It's weird to be in a situation where you can't help."
According to the site, Amanda's psychiatric hold at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California will be extended for another two weeks starting on Monday, October 13. Amanda's parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes, reportedly visited their daughter at the hospital shortly after her arrival.
According to Las Encinas' website, the hospital offers "a wide range of behavioral health care treatment options are offered for patients with psychiatric, chemical dependency, or co-occurring disorders."
The "Easy A" actress was placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold after she posted a series of tweets accusing her father of sexually, verbally and physically abusing her as a child. But later she clarified that her father "never did any of those things The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me." Amanda's mother then denied the allegations in a statement released through her lawyer.
The "Sydney White" star, who was placed under the same psychiatric hold last year after she reportedly started a fire on the driveway of a house in Thousand Oaks, was arrested for DUI in late September after she stopped her car in the middle of an intersection at Van Nuys, California. She is scheduled to appear in court on October 23.
