Adam Sandler Lined Up for Jason Reitman's 'American Beauty' Live Reading

Sandler is set to read the role of Lester Burham which earned Kevin Spacey an Academy Award for Best Actor.

AceShowbiz - Jason Reitman enlists the cast members of his movie "Men, Women & Children", including Adam Sandler, for a live reading of classic Oscar-winning movie "American Beauty". The event which will take place October 16 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a part of live read series he hosted every year.

Sandler will read the role of Lester Burham, which earned Kevin Spacey an Oscar for Best Actor. Rosemarie DeWitt will play Carolyn originally portrayed by Annette Bening, Kaitlyn Dever is cast as the couple's daughter Jane played in the original film by Thora Birch, Olivia Crocicchia will play Mena Suvari's role Angela, and Travis Tope will portray Wes Bentley's Ricky.

"I had such a great experience working with the cast that I was looking for any excuse to get them all together again," Reitman told Entertainment Weekly. "It occurred to me while I was trying to figure out who to put into the 'American Beauty' read that the casts kind of lined up nicely."

Reitman will also host a live reading of "Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back" in December and Martin Scorsese's "Godfellas" in January.
