AceShowbiz - Julianna Margulies is mourning her father, Paul Margulies, who died at the age of 79 on Tuesday, October 7. The former "ER" star has not commented on her loss and the cause of the death has not been disclosed yet.

In his obituary posted by The Berkshire Eagle on Thursday, Paul was said to be "remembered for his never ending friendship, his spectacular sense of humor and joke telling, and his kindness to all who met him."

According to the obituary, Paul was "a tremendous leader in the Anthroposophical community." He is also known for composing famous advertising jingles for Alka-Seltzer with the lyrics, "Plop, plop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is."

In an interview with The Huffington Post last year, Julianna shared his father would often offer his opinion on the story line of her series "The Good Wife". She recalled at that time, "My dad, who's such a fan of the show, he called me last week and said, 'I don't like where the show's going. It's too dark. There has to be a human element of sympathy for these characters and I'm not feeling it.' I was like, 'Dad, hang in there. It's coming.' "

Paul is survived by his wife, his three daughters Alexandra, Rachel and Julianna, his brother, his sister-in-law and his five grandchildren. His funeral will be held on October 10 in New York.
