Michael Caine Plans to Retire After 'Now You See Me 2'

The 'Interstellar' actor says he no longer has ambitions and is ready to retire after completing the 'Now You See Me' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Michael Caine hints at retirement. The 81-year-old actor, who is prepping to film "Now You See Me 2" with Daniel Radcliffe as his on-screen son, says he has no solid plan to continue acting after he finished filming this year.

"I have no ambitions now... all I do is, I do films that I really want to do," the British star said. "If I don't get a script - which I don't have - that entices me out, I'll be done in December when I do the last picture, the last script I've got."

"I always went into every movie with an aim. It was either to get an Oscar or make money, that's the two reasons I do movies. I've got two Oscars and I've got some money so I'm alright," he continued while sitting down with Newsnight.

However, there could always be a change of plan as he said, "I've probably retired now but I go home and there will be a great script and I think, 'Oh I'll do one more.' I look to see if it challenges me."

He indeed abandoned his initial plan to step away from movie business last year. He originally wanted to stop working when he turned 80, but decided to give himself 10 more years to carry on acting. He also had a dream of sharing screen with Jennifer Lawrence. "I think she's wonderful," he said. "I voted for her for the Oscar. I'd love to play her grandfather or something."

He will next be seen starring in "Interstellar", "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and "The Last Witch Hunter".
