AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B" has finally landed online, sharing footage from the Lifetime TV movie. It features Aaliyah's mother Diane, portrayed by Rachael Crawford, telling her daughter, "It takes more than some hot producer to create a superstar. It takes the right artist."

The 30-second snippet which makes its way out via E! Online also sees one record producer saying, "You realize what you got in this girl?" as Alexandra Shipp's Aaliyah shows some dance moves. Another producer comments on the young artist, "There's gonna be nobody like her."

The biopic follows Aaliyah's inspirational journey, from her debut on "Star Search" at the age of ten to the challenges she faced during her rise to become the Princess of R&B. On August 25, 2001, at the height of her popularity, her life was tragically cut short when a plane carrying the singer and some of her video crew crashed after takeoff from a Bahamian runway.

Although just 22-years-old at the time of her death, Aaliyah continues to lead a legacy as Billboard's tenth most famous R&B artist of the past 25 years and one of the recording industry's most successful artists in history.

Bradley Walsh directed the TV movie with a script provided by Michael Elliot. The cast also includes Sterling Jarvis as Aaliyah's father Mike Haughton, Chattrisse Dolabaille as Missy Elliott, and Izaak Smith as Timbaland.

Despite objection from the late star's family, Lifetime moves forward with the biopic and plans to debut it Saturday, November 15 at 8 P.M. ET/PT.
