In addition to recording the song, the 'American Idol' winner will star in the movie set for October 3 release in the U.S. alongside Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray among others.

AceShowbiz - For the first time in the past few days, Jordin Sparks makes headlines that aren't about her split from Jason Derulo. On Tuesday, September 30, she debuted her version of a Christian song titled "I Wish We'd All Been Ready".

Sparks shows off her smooth and beautiful vocals on the slow-tempo ballad. "There's no time to change your mind/ The Son has come and you've been left behind," the "American Idol" winner sings over the piano.

The 24-year-old singer's cover of "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" has been confirmed as the main theme of the upcoming thriller film "Left Behind". Directed by Vic Armstrong and written by Paul LaLonde and John Patus, the reboot of "Left Behind: The Movie" is based on the novel of the same name.

Sparks also appears in the film as a main character named Shasta Carvell. Also starring Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray and Nicky Whelan among others, it's slated to hit U.S. theaters on Friday, October 3.
