Streisand's 'Partners' doesn't only make the singer the only female artist with the most No. 1 albums, but also makes her the first act to have No. 1 albums in each of the last six decades.

AceShowbiz - Barbra Streisand has made a history in music with her latest album "Partners". After the set debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with 196,000 copies sold on Wednesday, September 24, the veteran singer becomes the only artist to have No. 1 albums in each of the last six decades.

"Partners", Streisand's 34th studio effort, marks her 10th album to land atop the esteemed chart. She now ties with Elvis Presley for the most No. 1 albums and continues to hold the record for the most No. 1 albums among fellow female artists.

The project includes Streisand's duets with some famous male acts like John Legend, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli and Presley. It was executive produced by the 72-year-old star herself and Jay Landers. Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, who also appears on one song from the LP, served as a producer alongside Walter Afanasieff.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Streisand revealed how she and her collaborators felt when they recorded in the studio. "We were all nervous," she said. "Everybody was saying to me, 'I'm nervous singing with you!' And I said, 'Whoops, I'm nervous singing with you.' ... I love that kind of nervousness. You know something's being done for posterity."

She additionally said of singing along with Presley's vocals on "Love Me Tender", "It just felt right. It felt natural. I met him. I talked to him."

After "Partners" debuted at No. 1 on charts and helped her set new records, Streisand took to Facebook to thank her loyal fans, her collaborators and everyone who worked with her for the album. "Hearing the news that 'Partners' entered the charts at #1 was an overwhelming feeling of joy!!" she wrote. "Being told that I've had #1 albums in six consecutive decades makes me feel truly blessed and grateful to have such loyal fans. I feel you rooting for me and I so appreciate all of your energy and support."
