The song and its music video, which stars some young cancer patients from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, are released to help raise awareness of pediatric cancer.

AceShowbiz - Sara Bareilles has teamed up with Cyndi Lauper for "Truly Brave", a mash-up of their respective hit single "Brave" and "True Colors". The song and its accompanying music video were premiered on Thursday, September 25 on "Today" show to help raise awareness of pediatric cancer.

The video features some young cancer patients from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The first part of the clip was shot in black and white and shows some of the kids looking bored as they lie down on their beds.

They're later seen sneaking out of their rooms and joining fellow young cancer patients for a fun activity in another room. They laugh and look happy as they paint the walls, themselves and their friends with colorful paints. Meanwhile, the nurses and doctors are surprised when finding out the kids are not on their beds.

"Truly Brave" is Bareilles and Lauper's collaboration with Hoda Kotb, the host of "Today" show who's also a breast cancer survivor. "When I visit pediatric hospitals, all I want to do is make it better. If music helped me, I thought maybe I could give these kids the gift of that perfect song. A song just for them," Kotb said of the song on "Today".
