Ridley Scott Says 'Prometheus 2' Won't Have 'Alien' Titular Creature Xenomorph
Movie

The 'Robin Hood' director believes there will be too 'much snarling' if Xenomorph appears in the 'Prometheus' sequel.

AceShowbiz - Xenomorph won't return for "Prometheus 2", so Ridley Scott says. The director teases what to expect from the sequel to 2012's "Prometheus" in an interview with Yahoo! Movies, saying that the "Alien" titular monster was overused so he decides to leave it out.

"The beast is done. Cooked," he said. "I got lucky meeting Giger all those years ago. It's very hard to repeat that. I just happen to be the one who forced it through because they said it's obscene. They didn't want to do it and I said, 'I want to do it, it's fantastic.' But after four (he has conveniently forgotten the 'Alien vs. Predator' movies), I think it wears out a little bit."

The helmer continued, "There's only so much snarling you can do. I think you've got to come back with something more interesting. And I think we've found the next step. I thought the Engineers were quite a good start."

Of what the untitled Prometheus sequel might entail, he said, "You'll probably have to go with [Noomi Rapace's Elizabeth Shaw] and [Michael Fassbender's android David] - without his head. Find out how he gets his head back on!"

Michael Green ("Green Lantern") polishes the script drafted by Jack Paglen ("Transcendence"). The sequel is rumored for 2016. After "Exodus: Gods and Kings" starring Christian Bale, Scott is prepping for "The Martian" with Matt Damon and developing a sequel to "Blade Runner".
