'NCIS: New Orleans' Is the Most Watched New Fall Series So Far

With 17.1 million total viewers, the latest 'NCIS' spin-off takes the crown from 'Madam Secretary' as the most-watched new fall debut.

AceShowbiz - A spin-off of a hit series, "NCIS: New Orleans" finds no problem to attract viewers. The new show which was first introduced as backdoor pilot during the eleventh season of "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" drew 17.1 million viewers and a 2.5 rating in the key 18-49 demographic when it debuted Tuesday, September 23.

Starring Scott Bakula as the team leader, the police procedural series posted the most watched new fall debut so far, surpassing CBS' "Madam Secretary" which had 14.7 million viewers during its premiere on last Sunday night. The mother show, "NCIS", served as the lead-in to "NCIS: New Orleans" and posted 18 million viewers.

Other new series which had successful debuts so far are CBS' "Scorpion" with 13.8 million viewers and a 3.2 rating on Monday, NBC's "The Mysteries of Laura" which posted 10.2 million viewers and a 2.0 rating after "America's Got Talent" finale last Wednesday, FOX's Batman prequel series "Gotham" which drew 8.2 million viewers and a 3.2 rating, as well as ABC's "Forever" with 8.6 million viewers and a 1.7 rating.
