Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley Pay Tribute to Football Star Rob Bironas

Underwood and Bentley are among stars who tweet their condolences following the death of the former Tennessee Titans kicker who got into a car crash over the weekend.

AceShowbiz - Former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas, the husband of country singer Rachel Bradshaw who is also the daughter of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw, passed away at the age of 36 over the weekend. After the sad news hit the web, many country stars including Dierks Bentley and Carrie Underwood took to social media to offer condolences.

"Shocked and saddened this morning at the passing of Rob Bironas. Such a nice guy. Sending prayers and love to his family... RB # 2," Underwood tweeted. Bentley additionally wrote, "I don't know anyone that didn't like rob bironas. lot of heavy hearts in nashville today. prayers for his family."

Josh Turner also paid tribute on Twitter, writing, "I'm shocked at the news of Rob Bironas' accident. He will always be a Nashville icon & was a great guy." Charlie Daniels, meanwhile, said in a Twitter post, "We're gonna miss you Buddy Rest in peace Rob Bironas." John Rich added, "So sad to hear my friend @robbironas passed away from a car accident last night. He was a good friend to me, and is VERY missed. #robbironas."

According to Metro police, Bironas died following a single car crash on Saturday, September 20 in Nashville, Tenn. Police spokesperson Don Aaron said that Bironas apparently was heading home when he lost control of his car, went off road and hit some trees.

Bironas was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. Aaron additionally said that there were no signs of alcohol.

"Rob made a significant impact as a player in his nine years with the team and more importantly touched many lives in the Nashville community off the field," the Titans said in a statement on Sunday. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Rachel, and his family during this very difficult time."
