The Wolverine depicter on 'X Men' movies says the late comedian asked him to perform at her funeral ten years ago after watching his performance in 'The Boy From Oz'.

AceShowbiz - Hugh Jackman who performed at Joan Rivers' funeral on Sunday, September 7 recalled that moment during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, the Wolverine depicter in "X Men" movies shared how he ended up singing "Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage" at the comedian's intimate funeral.

The "Fashion Police" star actually asked him to sing at her funeral years ago after she watched his performance in "The Boy From Oz". "She had planned everything out. She had seen me in a show called 'The Boy From Oz', which I did here on Broadway. And I sang a song from that. It was called 'Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage.' It's a beautiful celebration of a woman, and it was for her," Jackman told the host.

"The entire audience in the synagogue got up and started clapping and cheering," the "Les Miserables" star recalled. "The whole thing was very uplifting, very touching and moving, but funny."

In the end of the star-studded funeral, bagpipe players from the Pipes & Drums of the Emerald Society performed some songs including "New York, New York". "When the bagpipes came out at the end, everyone just started laughing," Jackman added. "Out come the bagpipes! It was perfect."

Rivers passed away on Thursday, September 4 at the age of 81 following a cardiac arrest during a throat procedure in a Manhattan clinic. Officials at the health department have said that they are "reviewing the matter."
