Death of G.R.L.'s Simone Battle Is Ruled Suicide

The former 'X Factor (US)' contestant's death has been ruled a suicide by hanging two days after her passing.

AceShowbiz - Simone Battle, a member of G.R.L., was found dead in her house in Los Angeles on Friday morning, September 5 at the age of 25. Los Angeles County coroner confirmed on Sunday, September 7 that Simone's death was ruled a suicide by hanging.

Reign Deer Entertainment, G.R.L.'s founder Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records and RCA Records said in a statement, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."

Robin and fellow G.R.L. member, Natasha Slayton, paid tribute to Simone by posting lengthy messages on Instagram. Meanwhile, another member Paula van Oppen posted on Facebook, "U are real angel now!!! #RIPsimone."

Simon Cowell, who mentored Simone on "The X Factor (US)" in 2011, tweeted, "I am so sad to hear about the news Simone Battle has passed away. She was such a fun nice person. It's such a loss. Rest in peace Simone." Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger, who was a judge when Simone competed on the show, posted, "Devastated & upset to hear about the passing of @GRLSimone.My prayers go out to her family @robinantinpcd @GRL & my ReignDeer family."

Pitbull, who previously worked with G.R.L. for single "Wild Wild Love", also paid tribute by posting a tweet which read, "My heart and prayers go out to @GRLSimone: @grl and her family. RIP Dios la bendiga." Grammy-nominated producer Dr. Luke tweeted, "My thoughts are with GRL and Simone's family during this difficult time. The world has lost a true talent. She will be greatly missed." Meanwhile, Cirkut posted, "Had the pleasure of knowing and working with Simone Battle. A talented and beautiful person. My thoughts are with her family and friends."
