The former coach of 'The Voice' has been removed from the line-up of the gig scheduled for September 20 after sending out the tweets considered 'completely inconsistent with Navy core values.'

AceShowbiz - Cee-Lo Green is no longer expected to play the Freedom LIVE concert scheduled for September 20 in Washington, D. C. Organizers of the U.S. Navy-sponsored gig announced that they decided to remove the rapper from the line-up in response to the controversial tweets about rape he sent out recently.

"Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider completely inconsistent with Navy core values," Freedom LIVE posted on its official Facebook page.

"Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable," they added.

The concert will still happen with performances from headliner Little Big Town and other acts. A replacement for Cee-Lo will be announced soon. However, fans who purchased tickets to see the Gnarls Barkley member's performance can ask for full refunds.

After pleading no contest to charges of furnishing ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles, Cee-Lo tweeted last week, "If someone is passed out they're not even WITH you consciously. People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!! So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?"

Cee-Lo later deleted the tweets and apologized for making the comments. Following the controversy, his TBS series "CeeLo Green's the Good Life" got canceled after just one season. The network, however, said that they made the decision due to the series' "poor ratings."
