James Gunn Says 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Won't Introduce Ms. Marvel
Movie

The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' director rules out having Carol Danvers coming to the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the second installment.

AceShowbiz - After rumor suggested Marvel was having cold feet to have Carol Danvers in "Avengers: Age of Ultron", fans are wondering in which film she will be introduced. While the studio remains silent, James Gunn dismisses the idea of the heroine also known as Ms. Marvel joining the group of galactic ragtag.

During a visit to the Dragon Con in Atlanta with his brother Sean Gunn who played a pre-CGI Rocket Raccoon on set, James made it clear that he wanted to stay away from "Earthlings" so Chris Pratt's Peter Quill could be the main connection between the franchise's cosmic world and the human planet on Earth.

According to Collider, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" helmer who will reprise his role behind the lens for the second film did agree, without specifying further, that the female hero also known as Captain Marvel would likely appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner rather than later.

Although the "Guardians" sequel won't have Ms. Marvel, James believed there were a lot of interesting female characters in the Galaxy that he could pick out and highlight next. He promised to add more women to the Marvel galactic world as soon as he could.

The director also talked about Stan Lee's original cameo in the first film. While the comic book writer played a Xandarian ladies' man, he was initially set to be one of the Collector's exhibits along with Cosmo and Howard the Duck. He was supposed to flip off Groot as the tree-like creature was staring at him.
