The 'Pursuit of Happiness' rapper collapsed in front of the crowd in the middle of his set at Chicago's North Coast Music Festival.
Kid Cudi is fine after a health scare at a concert. The rapper who has three Grammy nominations under his belt took to Twitter to assure his fans that he was fine after he suddenly collapsed while performing at the North Coast Music Festival in Chicago Saturday, August 30.
The incident happened when Cudi, 30, got off the stage to get closer to the revelers. He was seen performing a high-energy set of his hit "Pursuit of Happiness" one moment and then having a fainting spell the next. He signed an autograph before losing consciousness and falling backward.
A security guard caught him before he hit the ground, and along with some other crew, the man quickly carried the star away from the crowd. He reportedly returned to the stage but exited again before his set concluded. According to a publicist for the event, he had been feeling unwell before taking the stage.
The rapper later wrote in a series of Tweets, "I'm ok!! To everyone who f**king came out tonight, wow. All the love, Just way too overwhelming. Blessed to have fans who actually give a f**k about me. Mad love to the security who were there and helped me out tonight. Really awesome dudes! Thanx for nursing me back to health ha."
While he didn't specifically mention why he fainted, he did hint that he didn't eat well. "Ill do a better and make sure to eat properly on show days :) scouts honor!" he said, before adding, "I love you Chicago. Don't you forget that s**t. Ever. If I scared anyone tonight I am so so sorry from the bottom of my heart."
