The 69-year-old comedian gets to relieve his early days as a magician in the family movie that the studio is developing.

Steve Martin returns to Disney in "Magic Camp". The comedian is in final negotiations to star in the studio's family comedy about an uptight banker who returns to the magic camp he attended as a child.

Martin is actually deeply involved in the project as he wrote the script with "A.C.O.D." filmmaker Stu Zicherman. Jeff Judah and Gabe Sachs, who wrote "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", wrote the first draft. Judah and Sachs are now producers on "Magic Camp", THR reported. No director has been attached yet.

In the movie, the banker makes it his mission to improve the lives of all the kids while keeping an eye on his ultimate prize, the top spot at the Golden Wand competition. It is a project close to Martin's heart as he got his start working as a magician and at Disneyland's Magic Shop.

Martin's last Disney movie was 2003's "Bringing Down the House" which grossed $160 million worldwide. He also starred in the studio's "Father of the Bride" series in the 1990s.
