The 'Break Free' hitmaker takes to Twitter to respond to recent headlines about her saying that his ex cheated on her with a man, saying, 'People loooove twisting my words.'
Ariana Grande suggests her statement in a recent interview was misinterpreted. The "Problem" hitmaker recently made headlines after allegedly saying that her ex-boyfriend had cheated on her with another man. On Wednesday, August 13, Grande took to Twitter to explain her remarks.
"People loooove twisting my words lol. I never said 'my ex.' So don't trip. It was a a looooong time ago.... and it made for a great song," she wrote. "Just thought I'd clear that up before any unnecessary drama takes place haha."
Previously, Grande talked about her new song "Break Your Heart Right Back" with Metro's Guilty Pleasures. "There is a song called Break 'Your Heart Right Back' which is about a boy that cheats on a girl with another boy," she was quoted as saying.
"It's one of my favorites on the album and it's really funny because I believe it has happened to me. I'm not 100 per cent positive but I'm 99.9 per cent positive," she added. "I would rather he cheats on me with a guy than with a girl any day! If I found out my boyfriend was gay, I would be like 'OK!' I'd be so relieved."
In other news, the 21-year-old singer is now reportedly dating her "Best Mistake" collaborator Big Sean. "They have been friends since they made the song together. They have been spending more time together and recently have been getting very close. They are both doing great," a source told E! News. The pair recently were said sharing a kiss when watching "The Purge: Anarchy" at The Grove in Los Angeles.
Grande's upcoming sophomore album "My Everything" is set to hit the stores on August 25. She recently released a music video for "Break Free" which she will perform live for the first time at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards one day before her album comes out in stores.
