'Guardians of the Galaxy' Soundtrack Jumps to Billboard 200's No. 1

The set, which last week opened at No. 3 with 60,000, now becomes the second sountrack to have landed atop the chart after selling additional 109,000.

The soundtrack of blockbuster film "Guardians of the Galaxy" rises to No. 1 on Billboard 200 in its second week on the chart. Nielsen SoundScan reports the album, which last week opened at No. 3 with 60,000 copies, has sold another 109,000 to become the second chart-topping soundtrack of 2014 after the "Frozen (2013)" soundtrack.

Billboards notes that the compilation set, titled "Awesome Mix Vol. 1", is the first No. 1 soundtrack that's entirely made of previously released songs. Its 12 tracks were released between late 1960s to late 1970s and most of them were chart hits on Billboard Hot 100.

Next on Billboard 200, the "Now 51" album arrives at No. 2 with 94,000. Miles behind the latest installment of the long-running "Now That's What I Call Music!" franchise is Godsmack's "1000HP" that comes with 58,000. It marks the band's first album to not debut at No. 1 since 2000, when their "Awake" opened and peaked at No. 5.

Fellow rock band Spoon sees their latest studio effort "They Want My Soul" landing at No. 4 with 39,000 units sold. Closing out the top 5 is 5 Seconds of Summer's self-titled debut LP that slips from last week's No. 4 with 36,000.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' first album to top Billboard 200, "Hypnotic Eye", plunges to No. 6 after selling 34,000. Last week's runner-up Eric Clapton's "The Breeze (An Appreciation of JJ Cale)" also falls 5 rungs to No. 7 with 29,000.

The "Frozen" soundtrack, spending its 35th week inside the top 10, is at No. 8 with 28,000. Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" bows at No. 9 with 27,000 and The Vamps' EP "Somebody to You" arrives at No. 10 with 20,000.
