Thorin and his company are pitted against an angry Smaug and other evil forces including the infamous Sauron.
The first teaser trailer for "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is unleashed as a follow-up to the very brief sneak peek at the San Diego Comic-Con. It has somber tone, featuring haunting song "Edge of Night" sung by Pippin (Billy Boyd) in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King".
Thorin and his company are preparing for the last battle, which will be remembered by many generations to come as Martin Freeman's Bilbo puts it, they will "remember the good, the bad, those who survived, and those who didn't." They face off an angry Smaug, Goblins, Orcs, and other evil forces including Sauron.
The last installment of "The Hobbit" big-screen saga, the film will arrive in the U.S. on December 17 this year. Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans, Cate Blanchett, and Benedict Cumberbatch return for "the defining chapter" of the dwarves' epic journey.
