Executive producer Neal Baer additionally teases the return of a dead character, saying, 'When you're dead, you're dead. But that doesn't mean you can't be an avatar and come back at some point.'
"Under the Dome" cast member Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Rachelle Lefevre, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford and Eddie Cahill were all present for the show's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 24. Joined by executive producer Neal Baer, they presented a new clip for audience in Ballroom 20.
The spoilery sneak peek follows [SPOILER ALERT!] Barbie, Julia and Rebecca who are exploring a giant cavern. When Barbie is rappelling down the tunnel, he is pulled by some mysterious force. To save Julia from being pulled down with him, Barbie cuts the rope and falls into the darkness.
The cast wouldn't confirm whether Barbie dies or not, but EP Baer gives hope that Barbie may survive. "One of our characters might get out of the dome this season," he said. "We just finished shooting last week and we know the ending but we won't tell you."
Baer additionally noted that the tunnels were introduced to keep the show going. "We've set it up so we can keep going," he said. "We have plenty of stories left to tell." Star Vogel additionally dished on the possibility of the series featuring the world beyond the dome, saying, "They've come up with a really exciting and interesting way of broadening the scope of our world. I think everyone's in for a real treat once that happens."
While he couldn't promise that there would be no more deaths this season, Baer teased the return of a dead character. "When you're dead, you're dead. But that doesn't mean you can't be an avatar and come back at some point," he said, hinting that either Angie (Britt Robertson) or Linda (Natalie Martinez) would return later this season.
Baer additionally promised that "we'll definitely find out what's in that locker this year," referring to what Angie saw in the locker before she died.
"Under the Dome" season 2 airs Mondays at 10/9c on CBS.
