Lucy Lawless Added to 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

The former 'Xena: Warrior Princess' star's role on the ABC series is not disclosed, but she could play Mary Maloney, a highly skilled agent who can 'command any room.'

AceShowbiz - "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has recruited Lucy Lawless for its season 2. TV Guide which first reported the news didn't mention details of the role or how long she would appear on the action series.

However, TVLine suggested that the title character depicter on "Xena: Warrior Princess" could play the recurring role of Mary Maloney, which the the show has been looking for to fill. Maloney is described as a highly skilled agent who can "command any room" and boasts "effortless sex appeal."

Besides being known for her role as Xena, Lawless played Number Three on "Battlestar Galactica" series and Lucretia on "Spartacus". Most recently, she recurred on "Parks and Recreation".

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 2 premieres Tuesday, September 23 at 9/8c on ABC.
