Cox's version is expected to be featured at a climatic point in the biopic, titled 'I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story', that will premiere on the network early next year.

AceShowbiz - A few days ago, reports emerged suggesting that Lifetime hired singer Deborah Cox to cover Whitney Houston's hits for their upcoming biopic. Now, an audio of Cox covering the late star's "I Will Always Love You" has surfaced online thanks to TMZ.

Cox's version was recorded earlier this month, according to the site. In the clip, the two singer's voices are almost indistinguishable. The song is expected to be featured at a climatic point in the biopic that will star Yaya Dacosta as the iconic singer and Arlen Escarpeta as Bobby Brown.

The biopic, titled "I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story", is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Oscar nominee and Hoston's "Waiting to Exhale" co-star Angela Bassett on board as director. A rep for Lifetime recently told E! News that "music rights and clearances are still being worked out."

Scheduled to premiere early next year, the flick will focus on the singer's relationship with Brown, whom she met in 1989. The couple got married in 1992 and they welcomed their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown the following year.
