Calling Jean Kasem 'spiteful, malicious and vindictive' in an interview, Kerri Kasem says her stepmother has taken her father's remains out of the country.

AceShowbiz - Family drama surrounding Casey Kasem continues. Previously, it was reported that he had not been buried one month after he passed away and now his body apparently has been taken out of the country by his widow Jean Kasem. The radio legend's daughter Kerri Kasem talked about the incident to NY Daily News on Friday, July 18, saying that her father's body was no longer kept at the Gaffney Funeral Home in Tacoma, Wash.

"My stepmother is doing everything to keep my father's burial a secret so that none of his loved ones can visit," she was quoted as saying. "She's just spiteful, malicious and vindictive." Kerri added that it's "sad" because the former radio host wished to be buried at Forest Lawn in the Hollywood Hills.

According to the death certificate, Jean made arrangement to send the body to the Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home in Montreal, Canada, by July 14. "My dad has nothing to do with Canada. He lived in Los Angeles for 45 years. It just once again proves that my stepmother is not acting in my father's best interest or respecting his wishes," Kerri said.

Previously, an attorney for Kerri, Scott Winship, went to the funeral house in Tacoma to deliver the news of a temporary restraining order preventing the body to be cremated. However, the body was no longer there. When inquired, the funeral director at the Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Tim Grant, confirmed the news.

The Montreal funeral home, however, said that they have no records of arrangement for Casey Kasem. On Friday evening, a lawyer for Jean, Teruyuki Olsen, refused to comment on the incident, The Associated Press reports.

Casey passed away at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington on June 15. He suffered from Lewy body disease, a form of dementia, prior to his death at the age of 82.
