One Direction Fans Shred, Burn Concert Tickets Following Smoking Weed Video

An immigration lawyer also says that Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik may be banned from entering the U.S. because of their action.

Many fans were left angered after a video showing One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking weed in Peru arrived online earlier this week. Some of those Directioners have expressed their disappointment by destroying tickets to the British boyband's upcoming concerts.

The fans then took to social media to share photos of them ripping up and burning their tickets. "Just ripped up my One Direction tickets because Zayn and Louis smoke weed. I hate this band so much," a fan who went by Gagationer tweeted, captioning an image of completely shredded tickets.

"Photo just leaked of One Direction smoking a #pot cigarette. I will now be burning all my 1D stuff and suggest you all do the same!!" another fan named Brenty Candler said.

Some others said that Malik and Tomlinson had set a bad example for young fans. "Can we all just remember that there are younger fans that will now believe that smoking is cool and fun because 'one direction do it,' " a fan tweeted.

Meanwhile, many fans didn't seem too care about the controversial video. "Why are #directioners ripping up their #wwatour tickets? you should stick by your idols not abandon them!" says a fan. "Seriously these so called #directioners need to give @onedirection Louis and Zayn a break! just leave the boys alone... its pathetic."

One Direction's Liam Payne has reacted to fans' angers and has asked them to calm down. He said on Twitter on Wednesday, May 28, "Woah there's some pretty weird s**t going on ATM everyone just calm down and don't do anything stupid cuz u can't take it back."

He added, "I know some people are having a laugh and that's all well and good but some people will take this s**t serious so I suggest we stop."

Malik and Tomlinson, along with other One Direction members, are currently in Europe for their "Take Me Home" tour. According to an immigration lawyer Michael Wildes, the boys could have difficulties bringing the tour to the U.S. later this year due to their action.

"These young men have to be careful they are not deemed inadmissible to the USA," said Wildes. "The basis of a determination to bar One Direction from admission into the USA would be any concessions that they make or proof that they engaged in unlawful conduct. Even the smoking of a single joint could have that effect."
