'World War Z 2' Moves Forward With Steven Knight on Script
Movie

The Oscar-nominated scribe has been assigned to pen the sequel of 'World War Z' which already has Brad Pitt returning to star.

AceShowbiz - The sequel of "World War Z" is moving forward with a scribe attached. Steven Knight, who was nominated for Oscar in 2004 for "Dirty Pretty Things", has been tapped to write the script of "World War Z 2".

Brad Pitt was the first to reveal that there will be a sequel to the zombie apocalypse movie. Back in September 2013, the actor said a follow-up was in development and he would love to reprise his role as the United Nations agent Gerry Lane. "We have so many ideas and so much information - we think we have a lot of stuff to mine from," he said at that time, adding, "We gotta get the script right first to determine if we go further."

A month later it was announced that Marc Forster who directed the first movie wouldn't return for the sequel, reportedly because there was a fallout between him and Pitt. "The Impossible" director Juan Antonio Bayona was brought in later in December.

Pitt will produce with Jeremy Kleiner and DeDe Gardner under his Plan B flag. Paramount and Skydance will handle the distributions. Plot is still kept under wraps but it is expected that it continues the story of Max Brooks' popular novel.
