Robin Thicke Drops Studio Version of New Track 'Get Her Back'
The song, which Thicke performed at Billboard Music Awards before being made available on iTunes, is about the singer trying to fix his relationship with estranged wife Paula Patton.

Just hours after being debuted at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the official studio version of Robin Thicke's "Get Her Back" hit iTunes on Sunday night, May 18. Although he doesn't mention Paula Patton, the 37-year-old singer clearly sings about his estranged wife in the slow-tempo R&B jam.

"I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small/ I never should have asked you to do anything at all," the "Blurred Lines" hitmaker sings over the smooth instrumental. "I should have kissed you longer/ I should have held you stronger/ I'll wait for forever for you to love me again."

Thicke and Patton announced their split earlier this year. The R&B superstar, however, still hasn't given up on the woman whom he's been married to for nine years. He tried to win back the actress by dedicating a song to her and publicly declaring his love for her during his recent concerts.

In addition to performing the song, Thicke was one of the musicians who scored multiple awards at the BMAs. His smashing hit single "Blurred Lines", which also features guest vocals from Pharrell Williams and T.I., won in four different categories that included Top Hot 100 Song, Top Digital Song, Top Radio Song and Top R&B Song.
