FOX's Fall 2014 Schedule: 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Moved to Sunday, 'Glee' Bumped to Midseason

FOX Chairman Kevin Reilly confirms that the episode order for 'Glee' season 6 may be reduced and 'American Idol' will be trimmed from more than 50 episodes to 37 in season 14.

FOX has become the second network to announce its 2014 fall schedule after NBC. New series "Gotham" kicks off the line-up on Mondays at 8 P.M., paired with "Sleepy Hollow" which returns to its Monday, 9 P.M. slot.

In its 10th season, "Bones" is migrating to a tentpole slot on Thursdays at 8 P.M., followed by "Gracepoint", an adaptation of British crime drama series "Broadchurch", at 9 P.M. Another big transition is the move of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" from Tuesdays to Sundays at 8:30 P.M.

"Our portfolio of content this year reflects the biggest investment in programming we've ever made," said FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly. "FOX is redefining the network experience on our air and as a 24/7/365 platform, with distinctive series, addictive event dramas and can't-miss live specials that will deliver broadcast's most youthful audience at scale."

Noticeably missing from the fall line-up is "Glee", which is bumped to midseason. In a conference call with reporters, Reilly confirmed that the sixth and final season of the show, which was initially given a 22-episode order, would be trimmed. "We're going to sit down and talk [to exec producer Ryan Murphy] about how to end the show and how many that is," he said.

He also said that all three judges of "American Idol" season 13 would likely be back for the 14th installment, which would also be reduced to 37 from over 50 episodes this season. The show would play twice a week during the audition rounds before transitioning to a "two-hour show on one night" for the remainder of the season.

Also missing from the line-up are some new series including "Backstrom", "Hieroglyph", "The Last Man on Earth", "Wayward Pines" and "Weird Loners", "Empire" and "Bordertown", which possibly won't debut until 2015.
