Dramas 'Odyssey' and 'Allegiance' as well as comedy 'Marry Me' are also added to the network's pick-up slate.

AceShowbiz - NBC has ordered three drama and one comedy series for the 2014-2015 TV season. The new drama series, which all have heavy political concepts, are "State of Affairs", "Odyssey" and "Allegiance".
Marking Katherine Heigl's series regular return since her "Grey's Anatomy" role, "State of Affairs" follows her CIA officer character, Charleston Tucker, who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world.
She has a close personal relationship with the president (Alfre Woodard) because she once was engaged to her son before a terrorist attack took his life. Now, she has a personal agenda which is to bring the perpetrators to justice. Heigl will executive produce it with her mother Nancy Heigl, Alexi Hawley, Robert Simonds, Henry Crumpton and Julia Franz.
"Odyssey", written by Adam Armus and Nora Kay Foster and directed by Peter Horton, tells the thrilling tale of families torn apart when a female Special Ops soldier in North Africa, a corporate lawyer, and a Wall Street activist each uncover the same conspiracy between a U.S. corporation, the government and terrorism. Peter Facinelli, Anna Friel and Jake Robinson are among the stars.
As for "Allegiance" which was previously called "Coercion", it follows Alex O'Connor, a young idealistic CIA analyst specializing in Russian affairs, who learns a shocking secret and his close-knit, affluent family is about to be split apart when its revealed that his parents, Mark (Scott Cohen) and Katya (Hope Davis) are covert Russian spies deactivated decades ago. But now Russia has a new plan that will bring America to its knees, thus enlisting the family into service again.
Meanwhile, the comedy project that joins NBC's series pick-up slate is "Marry Me" from "Happy Endings" creator David Caspe. The semi-autobiographical show pairs "Happy Endings" alumna Casey Wilson, who is also Caspe's real-life fiancee, and Ken Marino as a longtime couple.
When Marino's Jake is ready to propose to Wilson's Annie, she lets loose on Jake for his inability to commit. Not wanting to spend the next 60 years talking about that mess of a proposal, Jake and Annie decide to hold off on the engagement until they can do it right.
