Fox to Adapt Marvel's Comic Book 'Superior'

Written by Mark Miller, the comic book centers on a sick boy who sells his soul to the devil to become his favorite superhero.

A new superhero movie is coming your way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has just picked up movie rights to Mark Miller's "Superior", a comic book limited series published between 2010 and 2012 by Marvel under its Icon imprint.

Matthew Vaughn will be involved in the project as a producer. He previously helmed two installments of the big-screen adaptation of Miller's "Kick-Ass". His next feature film, "The Secret Service" due October 24, is also based on Miller's work.

Illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu, "Superior" revolves around a young boy who suffers from multiple sclerosis. He is granted one wish by an alien monkey to become his favorite superhero, a Superman-like character named Superior. He later learns that the monkey is actually a demon from Hell and, unless he wants to return to his sick body, he must sell his soul to the devil.

Fox is currently searching for a writer to pen the screenplay. Matt Reilly will oversee the movie for the studio.
