The British singer also talks about his upcoming album 'X' and its lead single 'Sing' during his visit to 'Z100's Morning Show'.
Ed Sheeran is the latest musician who has covered Beyonce Knowles' hit single, "Drunk in Love". During his visit to "Z100's Morning Show" earlier this week, the British redhead wowed the show's hosts with his amazing vocals.
He told the hosts that he'd played the song a little bit in the past. "I did around 12 seconds of it and everyone online was like, 'I wanna hear a full version!' " he said and then played his acoustic guitar as he sang the sultry track. He skipped Jay-Z's rap verses but added some lines of Bey's "1+1" at the end of the song.
During his visit to the show, Sheeran also discussed his new album "X" (read "Multiply") which is set to be released next month. He also talked about "Sing", the new record's lead single which was produced by hitmaker Pharrell Williams.
"I made that song by accident," he says. "I made it with Pharrell and just through him really pushing me and him being like 'Man, you just gotta try this!' And me being like, 'No, it's not going to work!' And then when it started to work, [Pharrell] was like, 'I told you!' " he explained.
