The new sneak peek video also features dramatic scene where Bryan Cranston's character has to let go of his wife during a frantic evacuation.
"Godzilla" unleashes a new trailer that features a lot of never-before-seen footage. It gives a clearer, yet brief, look at some of the monsters and reveals the plot details more. The video opens with an emotional scene of Bryan Cranston's Joe having to watch his wife dying in front of his eyes.
"They evacuated us so quickly," he breaks the bad news to his son (Aaron Johnson). "You know I did everything I could." As footage of the city getting destroyed is flashed, he confronts someone, "What's really happening is that you're hiding something out there. And I have a right to know."
Described as an epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, the film pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. It is scheduled to make its way out in theaters across the country on May 16.
Directed by Gareth Edwards, the film is supported by Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche, and David Strathairn.
