Warner Bros. brings Johnny Depp for surprise appearance, while Fox offers first sneak peeks at Matthew Vaughn's 'The Secret Service' and David Fincher's 'Gone Girl'.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. and Fox have big presentations at the CinemaCon as the annual gathering of theater owners in Las Vegas continues on. First footage of "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" and the video that featured opening scenes of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" were shown by the respective studios.
"As other studios cut back, we are looking to expand our franchises and release as many films a year as ever," said WB's CEO Tsujihara, noting that "The Lego Movie" and "Harry Potter" spin-off movie, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", would launch a new series. "Producing 22 movies is a huge undertaking."
Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman came to the event to promote "Transcendence", Clint Eastwood brought "Jersey Boys", Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore introduced "Blended", while Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis promoted "Jupiter Ascending".
Director Gareth Edward was also among the WB line-up. He was there to tout his upcoming film "Godzilla". "We literally just finished the movie yesterday," he said, before jokingly adding, "Godzilla apologizes that he couldn't be here today to present the film. He's in a play on Broadway."
The teaser of the final "Hobbit" movie was not shown until near the end of the presentation. Director Peter Jackson recorded a special message for the crowd. The video ended with Ian McKellen's Gandalf saying, "The time is upon us when all must choose what side we're on."
As for Fox, the "X-Men" video that was displayed to the crowd was quite long, about 10 minutes or so. Among the scenes that were shown was the new mutants like Blink (Fan Bingbing), Warpath (BooBoo Stewart), Bishop (Omar Sy), and Sunspot (Adan Canto) under attacks by Sentinels in a bunker.
Matthew Vaughn's "The Secret Service" and David Fincher's "Gone Girl" were previewed as well. Other treats were "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", "The Fault in Our Stars", "The Maze Runner", and "How to Train Your Dragon 2".
Since CinemaCon kicked off Monday, March 24, the crowd got to see first sneak peeks at "Fifty Shades of Grey", "Fast and Furious 7", "Dumb and Dumber To", "Jurassic World", and Disney's "Cinderella", as well as 30-minute video of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".
