Seth Meyers' 'Late Night' Debut Tops Jimmy Fallon's

The first episode of 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' attracted 3.4 million viewers, the biggest audience for the show since 2005.

On Monday, February 24, around 3.4 million viewers tuned into the first episode of "Late Night with Seth Meyers". It marked the biggest audience in total as well as in the coveted 18-49 demo for the show since 2005.

With those numbers, Meyers' "Late Night" debut topped the premiere audience numbers of his predecessor Jimmy Fallon. Back in 2009, Fallon who now hosts "The Tonight Show" drew 2.8 million viewers when he debuted as "Late Night" host.

Meyers welcomed fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum Amy Poehler and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden on his first "Late Night" show. Poehler jokingly addressed her awkward reunion with bandleader Fred Armisen, who was also a regular cast member on "SNL", and did Meyers a favor by letting him conduct a practice interview on her.
