'Frozen' Named Best Animated Feature at 2014 Annie Awards

The animated movie based on the famous Snow Queen tale wins five awards, while 'The Croods' collects three, and 'Monsters University' gets two.

"Frozen (2013)" adds another accolade to its collection. Leading to the upcoming Academy Awards, the Disney animation collects five wins including the coveted Best Animated Feature at the 41st annual Annie Awards taking place February 1 at UCLA's Royce Hall.

The family-oriented musical comedy voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel beats out "Despicable Me 2", "Ernest & Celestine", "Monsters University", "The Croods", "The Wind Rises", and "A Letter to Momo" to take home the top prize.

The pic also gets recognized for the excellent directing by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the engaging music by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, Christophe Beck, and its brilliant production design. On top of that, Josh Gad who voiced Olaf the hilarious snowman was awarded the Voice Acting prize in animated feature.

Though losing the top honor, "The Croods" and "Monster University" still managed to pocket multiple prizes. The former bagged three awards for its Animated Effects, Character Animation, and Character Design, while the latter got two for Storyboarding and Editorial.
