Anonymous sources say that a private plane carrying Bieber and his entourage is searched at Teterboro Airport after officers detected the smell of weed.

AceShowbiz - A plane carrying Justin Bieber and his entourage reportedly has been searched in suspicion of carrying marijuana. Sources told CNN that the plane landed at Teterboro Airport on Friday, January 31 when the officers detected the smell of weed from the aircraft.

Drug-sniffing dogs were used during the search, but the officers reportedly found no drugs in the plane. Bieber, meanwhile, was interviewed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers. The plane was held for several hours, but Page Six reports that it was allowed to go following the investigation. Bieber and his friends apparently flew to New Jersey for pre-Super Bowl parties.

In other news, the Canadian singer's friend Lil Za who was arrested during a raid in Bieber's house earlier this month has been charged with drug crimes. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office announced on Friday that Lil Za, real name Xavier Smith, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance for MDMA (Ecstasy) and Oxycodone. He is also charged with a felony for damaging the jail's phone. He may face up to 9 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Bieber's local town mayor Dan Mathieson recently showed his support to the "Boyfriend" singer following the legal drama. "As far as I'm concerned, he is a 19-year-old person who has made some errors," the Mayor said, as quoted by Beacon Herald. "I hope for his sake that he can get a reset, and get back to music and doing what he loves."

"Never forget where you come from or those who supported you before anyone else," Bieber tweeted on Thursday evening in response to the support. "Still the small town kid. thanks." He also included a link to the news in the Twitter post.
