Movie

The director from the second film, Olivier Megaton, will return to helm the threequel, while Maggie Grace is among the returning cast.

AceShowbiz - "Taken 3" is taking shape. The movie franchise about Liam Neeson's former CIA agent who's dealing with kidnappings now targets Forest Whitaker as an addition to the cast ensemble in the upcoming third installment.

There is no word on what role the "Out of the Furnace" actor is circling. The story arc for the third entry is also still scarce, but Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen who wrote the first two films are set to return to handle the script.

Olivier Megaton, who directed 2012's "Taken 2" after Pierre Morel helmed the first one in 2008, is also expected to reprise his role behind the lens. Maggie Grace is back to portray Neeson's on-screen daughter.

The first "Taken" film grossed more than $200 million worldwide against a budget of $25 million. The follow-up, costing a modest budget of $45 million to produce, was also a success, raking in over $376 million internationally.
