"Saturday Night Live" has found a replacement for Seth Meyers on the "Weekend Update" segment. Colin Jost has been chosen to succeed longtime anchor Meyers, joining Cecily Strong behind the desk starting March 1.

Jost first joined "SNL" in 2005 at age 22 and has been a head writer on the show since 2012. As a stand up comedian, he has appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" as well as on TBS and HBO. The Harvard University graduate won the Peabody Award in 2009 and three WGA awards for his work on "SNL".

Meyers, meanwhile, will leave the long-running sketch series to host the "Late Night" show beginning February 24. His last episode will be the February 1 Super Bowl edition hosted by Melissa McCarthy.

"I love it so much, I really have tried to get every last bit out of it. It would have been depressing not to be here for these last three shows," he said earlier this month of why he kept his "SNL" gig so long.

"SNL" will air a new episode with "The Wolf of Wall Street" star Jonah Hill as the host on January 25 at 11:30 P.M./10:30c on NBC. Bastille will be the musical guest.
