The Emmy-nominated actress, who plays Don Draper's mistress on 'Mad Men', will guest star as the out-of-control sister of Jess on the FOX comedy.
Linda Cardellini has landed another bad-girl role. The actress, best known for her playing Lindsay Weir on "Freaks and Geeks" and Samantha Taggart on "ER", is set to guest star as Jess' sister on "New Girl".
The role is said to be a recurring one and she will make her debut appearance in a February episode. Jamie Lee Curtis will also reprise her role as Jess' mother in the said outing.
The character called Abby is described as "the wild-child sister who brings a real Springer energy to every situation." Abby comes into the storyline as Jess tries to bail her out of jail while keeping her from meeting Nick.
"New Girl" is currently on a holiday hiatus after airing its Thanksgiving episode in late November. The show will return with the remainder of its season 3 on January 7 at 9 P.M. on FOX.
Cardellini appeared in several episode of "Mad Men" season 6 as Don Draper's neighbor-turned-mistress Sylvia Rosen. The role earned her an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. She lends her voice to Wendy on Disney Channel's animated comedy series "Gravity Falls".
