Price's son reported earlier Sunday that his father had died of pancreatic cancer, but his wife Janie says the 'Release Me' crooner 'is still with us.'

AceShowbiz - Conflicting reports on Ray Price's condition emerged on Sunday, December 15, even leading his son Cliff to believe that his father had died. Many sources quoted Cliff's statement on Facebook saying that he "heard" his father had passed away, but later he took the post down and claimed he had been "deceived by some cruel people."
Price's wife Janie has cleared things up, insisting that the country music crooner's "still with us" and his son released the statement of his passing prematurely. The 87-year-old singer was surrounded by loved ones including a Pastor at home in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, according to Rolling Stone.
Janie also said that friend and country radio figure Bill Mack would release information on the singer's condition when appropriate. Mack has since given updates on Price's condition, saying in a statement released at 7 P.M. that "the great Ray Price is still with us, although obviously fading from the cancer."
An hour later, Mack stated, "Ray is still alive, thank God. Many of you have apologized for forwarding news of his 'passing'. Don't feel foolish or idiotic! Many announcements were made of Ray's death by various important avenues in the media because they had received the false information...It was just another bit of evidence that you love Ray and his music!"
