'Avengers 2': Don Cheadle to Have Key Role, Simon McBurney to Play New Jarvis

Cheadle is expected to return in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' as James Rhodes, while McBurney is rumored to be Tony Stark's human butler.

AceShowbiz - New "Avengers: Age of Ultron" rumors are brewing. Don Cheadle is expected to reprise his "Iron Man" role as Col. James 'Rhodey' Rhodes in the second film. According to HitFix, he has "a key role in the conflict with Ultron that is the main focus of the sequel."

Another report suggests that Simon McBurney is in talks to join the cast ensemble of "The Avengers" sequel. Bleeding Cool reports the British actor, 56, is eyed to play Edwin Jarvis.

In the movies, J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just a Rather Very Intelligent System) was introduced as Iron Man's artificial intelligence voiced by Paul Bettany. It later appears in the comics as a program which helps operate Pepper Potts' Rescue suit.

In the comic books, the human Jarvis is an actual butler to Tony Stark. The former British soldier serves the Avengers after Stark's residence becomes the Avengers' headquarters.

"Avengers 2" is scheduled for U.S. release on May 1, 2015. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson are expected to reprise their respective roles.

James Spader is cast as the main villain, Elizabeth Olsen is tapped as Scarlet Witch, and Aaron Johnson as her twin brother Quicksilver.
