"Star Wars" has officially joined Instagram. On Monday, December 2, a post on the official "Star Wars" blog directed fans to the newly launched account on the photo-sharing site for the sci-fi movie franchise.
As the first post, Darth Vader posed for a selfie with dead Stormtroopers lying on the floor behind him. "Another day at the office. #StarWars #DarthWader #selfies #gpom," a caption of the photo read.
The Instagram account already has more than 120,000 followers as of this writing.
The new "Star Wars" film, "Star Wars Episode 7", is currently in the works with J.J. Abrams on board as director. Emmanuelle Chriqui, Taissa Farmiga and Alexis Dziena were the latest stars linked to the project, but no official cast is announced yet. The movie eyes an early 2014 start date for a planned December 18, 2015 release in the United States.
