West apparently is upset because the head of Louis Vuitton refused to see him when he was in Paris, saying, 'Don't buy any Louis Vuitton until after January.'
Kanye West blasted Louis Vuitton during a radio appearance on Monday afternoon, November 25 in New York City. Stopping by 92.3 Now, the rapper recalled an incident involving the luxury brand when he was in Paris last month and urged people in New York City not to buy its products.
"While I was in Paris I wanted to meet the head of Louis Vuitton and he said 'I don't understand why we need to meet with you?' I said let me explain to you why you need to meet with me," he said in the interview before adding, "Everybody in New York City right now, don't buy any Louis Vuitton until after January... Now do you wanna meet with me? Influence... they think that I don't realize my power."
Kanye, who was joined by his fiancee Kim Kardashian during the radio interview, was pictured leaving the radio station in casual clothing which consisted of black t-shirt and jeans. The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star, meanwhile, sported all-black outfit.
It was not the first time Kanye slammed the luxury brand. In October, the rapper said that the prices of Louis Vuitton's products were too expensive. "If I had the opportunity to design for Louis Vuitton now I wouldn't because the prices are just too extreme and I don't want to use my message to have kids saving up that much to be a part of what the ideas are. That's the problem to me with luxury," he told Los Angeles radio talk show host Big Boy.
