Ron Burgundy went Down Under as "Anchorman: The Legend Continues" premiered at the Entertainment Quarter in Sydney on Sunday, November 24. Will Ferrell, appearing as himself instead of his alter ego, was joined by his on-screen news team Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner on the red carpet.
The male stars suited up for the occasion as female cast members Kristen Wiig and Kirsten Dunst sported less formal outfits. Wiig, who plays the wife of Carell's Brick Tamland, rocked a black jumpsuit, while Dunst, who lands a cameo role in the film, looked lovely in a polka dot black and white dress. She showed some PDA with her beau Garrett Hedlund, who sported a white shirt and black suit without a tie.
Inside the venue, the cast led the audience to sing "Afternoon Delight" before the movie was screened. Asked why it took so long for the sequel to the 2004 comedy movie to be made, Ferrell said, "We're big procrastinators."
"Anchorman 2" continues to follow Ron Burgundy and his team as they take New York's first 24-hour news channel by storm. Still directed by Adam McKay, it has enlisted Nicole Kidman, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Drake and Kanye West to make cameo appearances.
The movie is due in the U.S. December 20.
