FOX Midseason Shuffle: 'Glee' Returns to Tuesday, 'Dads' and 'Mindy' Are Shelved

The Ryan Murphy-created series will be paired with hit comedies 'New Girl' and 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' on Tuesdays, while 'The Following' will return with its second season on January 19.

There are some major shakeups in the newly announced FOX midseason schedule. Taking the coveted Thursday slot this season, "Glee" is moved back to Tuesday where it did well last season.

Beginning February 25, the musical drama series will air Tuesdays at 8 P.M.. It will be followed by an hourlong comedy block consisting of "New Girl" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", which takes over the 9:30 P.M. slot from "The Mindy Project".

"Mindy" will return with new episodes in the spring, on April 1 with back-to-back episodes, before airing in its regular timeslot, Tuesdays at 9:30 P.M., starting the week after. It's still unknown when rookie comedy "Dads", which will go on hiatus after airing its last original episode on February 11, will return, but FOX has ordered a full season of the Seth Green-starring series.

Also undergoing a shift is "Rake", which will now premiere January 23 in its regular Thursday 9 P.M. slot. It was previously planned to debut behind the NFC Championship Game on January 19. "The Following" will now enjoy the boost from the strong lead-in, being slated to return with its second season after the football game.
