The 'Glee' alum will make his debut as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash in upcoming 'Arrow' episode titled 'The Scientist'.
How Grant Gustin will look like as Barry Allen a.k.a. The Flash has been revealed in new photos from "Arrow". In the episode aptly titled "The Scientist", the Central City police scientist comes to Starling City to help Oliver and team investigate a robbery at Queen Consolidated's Applied Sciences Division.
In addition to the eighth episode which will air December 4, Barry was supposed to appear in two other episodes, episode 9 and 20, with the latter initially set to serve as a backdoor pilot for The Flash spin-off. However, The CW has apparently had a change of mind.
Deadline has just learned that the network opted to film a standalone pilot for the potential new series after cuts of episodes 8 and 9 received positive responses. This means Barry won't be seen in The Flash red costume until the pilot.
"Arrow" executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg as well as DC Entertainment's Geoff Johns remain on board as the writers with David Nutter set to direct the pilot. It's unclear if episode 20 of "Arrow" will still feature or mention The Flash.
