The 'Dumb and Dumber' follow-up is slated for fall 2014 release, while the third 'Insidious' installment is scheduled for spring 2015.
The sequel to comedy classic "Dumb and Dumber" and the third installment of horror story "Insidious" have both got release dates. The former will come out in the U.S. on November 14, 2014, and the latter is set to haunt theaters across the country on April 3, 2015.
"Dumb and Dumber To" will face off David Ayer's drama thriller "Fury" starring Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf. Other November releases include Christopher Nolan-directed "Interstellar" (November 7) and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" (November 21).
As for "Insidious Chapter 3", it will face competition from sci-fi romance "Passengers (2015)" led by Keanu Reeves and Rachel McAdams. Other than those two films, no other movies are set for April 2015 so far.
"Dumb and Dumber" sequel will see the return of dimwit duo played by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. Jennifer Lawrence will make a cameo, playing the younger version of Kathleen Turner's on-screen character.
"Insidious 3", meanwhile, is still in early development. Scribe Leigh Whannell is back to write the screenplay. No director has been tapped after James Wan, who helmed the first two "Insidious" pics, left the horror franchise to work on "Fast and Furious 7".
