The Australian model, who previously said that Swift 'didn't fit' the rest of Victoria's Secret models, says in a new interview that the 'Love Story' singer 'is a true rock star.'
Jessica Hart backpedals on her previous comment about Taylor Swift which suggested that the 23-year-old singer "did not fit" the rest of Victoria's Secret models. In a new interview with Us Weekly, the Australian model has nothing but praises for the pop star.
"I adore Taylor Swift, and I was so excited to be with her at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. What Taylor does on stage is nothing compared to what we do," Hart says. "I could never get up there and do what she does! She is a true rock star and she absolutely killed it the other night. Her song 'Pieces' was one of my favorite songs, and I own her first ever CD. I can't imagine why I would have said anything bad about her," she adds.
Previously, following Swift's performance at the 2013 Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Hart told Women's Wear Daily at the event's after-party on November 13 that the "Love Story" singer would not make it as lingerie model. "I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she's great. But I don't know, to me, she didn't fit. I don't know if I should say that," she said.
"I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we've been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It's definitely the benchmark of all jobs," she continued.
A chief marketing officer for Victoria's Secret, Edward Razek, said on November 16 that Hart's statement was "misinterpreted." He explained, "I have personally been in contact with Jessica Hart and she said she was 'wildly misinterpreted' and that she thought Taylor was 'amazing. She is stunned that anyone would think differently. And that's something we can all agree on."
"I can tell you that everyone at Victoria's Secret was blown away by Taylor's performance. She could not be more beautiful or talented, that we felt extremely lucky to have her, and that she is welcome back to do the show anytime she wants," he added.
