'Divergent' First Trailer: Shailene Woodley Is a Rare Exception
Movie

Woodley plays a teenager named Tris who finds out that she will never fit into her seemingly perfect society because of her unique characteristics.

AceShowbiz - The first trailer for "Divergent" has been unleashed, giving a look at a futuristic Chicago where people are divided into five distinct factions based on their personalities. It shows Tris (Shailene Woodley) taking a test to determine which faction she belongs to.

"The only way our society can survive is for each of you to claim your rightful place. Today, you will take a test that will help you discover who you truly are," Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet) tells a large group of teenagers. "The future belongs to those who know where they belong."

But Tris doesn't fit anywhere because she has an aptitude for more than one faction. "They call it Divergent," Tori (Maggie Q) warns her. "You can't let them find out about you. They're always watching. You have to hide where they'd never expect to find you."

An adaptation of Veronica Roth's young adult novel of the same name, the film is directed by Neil Burger. It's supported by Theo James, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd, Miles Teller and many more. It's due March 21, 2014 in the U.S.
