Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. show good dynamics as they sit together on the judging panel.
"American Idol" may feature less arguments and more friendly banter among the judges in season 13. In a new promo that gives a look at the judges during the auditions, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. appear to be in sync.
On the talent side, a boy who declares to be a fan of Urban and a girl with a good sense of humor wow the judges during the auditions in Detroit. The judges get a good laugh when a contestant does a silly dance and Connick Jr. is accused of being harsh by another "Idol" hopeful.
"American Idol" season 13 will premiere January 15 on FOX. The network announced in October that the Thursday results show would be cut down from one hour to half an hour, with new comedy TV series "Surviving Jack" filling the remaining 30 minutes.
Ryan Seacrest is back as the host, Randy Jackson returns in a new role as a mentor, and executive producers Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick are replaced by Per Blankens, Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager.
